Marriage License Requirements in Ohio

      -Both men and women must be at least 18 years of age.
       An individual may be granted a license at 16 years of age
       with parental consent.
      -Both parties must apply for the license in person and together.
      -If you are a resident of the state of Ohio, you must apply in the county
       where you reside.
      -Out-of-state residents must apply and obtain the license in the county
       where they plan to marry.
      -No medical exam is required.
      -The application is valid for thirty (30) days in Ohio. There is a five (5)
       day waiting period for the license, and once it is issued, it is valid for
       sixty (60) days.
      -A certified divorce decree is required for each previous marriage if
       either party is remarrying.
      -The cost of the license varies ($20.00 - $45.00). Contact your County
       Clerks Office for the current cost.
